Special Education
The school special education departments ensure that a Free and Appropriate Public Education is available to all students through specially designed instruction, accommodations to access instruction, and modifications to assignments and assessments to ensure student progress and success.
The Office of Pupil Services provides:
- professional development to special education teachers, paraprofessionals, and one-to-ones or assistance with coordinating outside trainings
- audits of Individualized Education Plans and special education student files
- evaluation of special education program effectiveness and support in revising the school’s delivery of services to meet evolving student needs
- support to school or family in Individualized Education Program meetings
- assistance with coordination of related services, psychological services, and parent education
- research and recommendations of curriculum, programs, technology and supplements to enhance school level special education programming
- support in discipline procedures as they relate to special education students
- support in IDEA compliance and monitoring
