What is American Paradigm Schools?

American Paradigm Schools (APS) is a charter management organization that supports and serves four charter schools in North and Northeast Philadelphia. These schools are: First Philadelphia Preparatory Charter School; Lindley Academy Charter School; Memphis Street Academy; and Tacony Academy Charter School.

Is APS a non-profit? 
Yes, APS is a non-profit organization.

Are all of your schools traditional charter schools?
No. First Philadelphia and Tacony Academy are traditional charter schools, while Memphis Street Academy and Lindley Academy are turn around schools in the Philadelphia renaissance model.

What is a turn around/ Renaissance school?
The School District of Philadelphia’s Renaissance Schools Initiative is aimed at bringing transformative change to the city’s lowest performing schools. The District works with school communities to select education management organizations with proven track records of operating and supporting high-achieving schools to turnaround failing schools.

Who can enroll at AP schools?
All students residing in the catchment areas are eligible to apply to APS schools. Check out each school’s website for more specific instructions and information on enrollment.

What type of services does APS provide to their schools?
APS provides a variety of management services including but not limited to; compliance, professional development, human resources, data management, renewal assistance, public relations, website development, facilities management, curriculum development, and board development.
