Physical Information
Sudden Cardiac Arrest and Concussion Prevention and Maintenance have become a major priority in youth and school athletics. In response to this many leagues around the country have added new regulations regarding medical care including the leagues in which we participate. At the beginning of the school year a letter was sent home regarding a change in the physical form policy for the 2016-2017 school year. This letter is to again serve as a reminder of that policy, and hopefully give you a little time to potentially schedule appointments before September 12.
From this point forward all student athletes must have a physical completed after June 1st of the school year in which they are participating. We are aware of the policy of many insurance companies that dictate to you when, and how often, your child can receive a physical. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes, but we must follow this policy strictly. In addition to the new date all physicals must be the official PIAA CIPPE Form. This form can be found on the PIAA website (http://www.piaa.org/resources/forms/) as well as our school website under the Forms section of the athletics tab. If you are unable to schedule a doctor’s appointment there are urgent care centers, pharmacies, and Philadelphia Health Centers that can complete the examination. If you need any assistance locating the nearest available place please send me an email at prieser@ap-schools.org and I will be glad to help. Thank you for your attention in this matter. GO LIONS!
